Stroopwafels

Is it a cookie or a waffle?

Stroopwafels

It’s a cookie baked on a waffle iron. Specifically there are 8 irons turning over a circle of gas flames.  Our cookies are baked amazingly thin, split while warm and filled with our own rich caramel. We are often asked, “How do you get that caramel in there?” Our vintage mechanical equipment is fully visible to our customers while we are baking. We produce a truly artisan cookie!

Stroopwafels are a traditional Dutch treat from the city of Gouda. From humble beginnings in 1810, the stroopwafel is one of the most popular sweets in the Netherlands. Made in that tradition, our delicious Caramel Cookie Waffles with richly-filled, chewy centers are one of the Netherlands’ true specialties. We have been hand making Caramel Cookie Waffles, our version of the stroopwafel, at our bakery in Billings, Montana since 1987.

No Airplane Ticket Needed

Our stroopwafels are made according to a traditional and closely-guarded recipe. While we can’t share our secret, we utilize the finest fresh ingredients and hand-bake each Caramel Cookie Waffle on flame-fired irons. Next, we carefully fill each cookie with homemade caramel to finish the delicate and precise process. Finally, we hand-package each Caramel Cookie Waffle before shipping them directly to your doorstep. After all that care, we’re sure you’ll to enjoy this Dutch treat. Try them warmed over a cup of coffee or share with a friend.

We will ship the freshest cookies straight to you! Our cookies have also been ordered for weddings, as business calling cards and gifts. Although a trip to The Netherlands is wonderful, tulips, windmills, Van Gogh and Rembrandt, a fresh Stroopwafel gets you part way there. Set it on top of your hot cup of coffee and picture a sidewalk café next to a canal.
